Paul Steenbekkers

My name is Paul Steenbekkers, 45 years old and I live with my girlfriend Ank, son Mees and daughter Sophie in Venray. I studied veterinary medicine, worked in pig farming for 12 years and have now been working at Vitelia Voeders as a pig farming business advisor for almost three years.

When I was seven my father took me fishing for the first time. Just with a short bamboo rod, on the mesh, with a bunch of maggots on the hook. I caught a few roaches…. From then on fishing has been my passion and my life.

Together with Patrick, I focused on carp from seventh grade. That was also the time when the boilie was upcoming. At that time we experimented with all kinds of ingredients to invent that one superboilie. Day after day we produced boilies by hand to get through the weekend fishing. And big success came with a recipe based on piglet meal.

We sometimes chased fish other than carp, but the main part was the carp. We tried in every way to catch this beautiful fish. And even today boiliefishing is not the only method we use to catch carp. We just adapt our tactics to the circumstances we face.

The river Maas is very attractive to me, especially because of its mystery about the possible catches. Fishing on the Maas is not easy, which is why we often enough alternate with penfishing or surface fishing on ponds, or static fishing on various other waters.

Opportunities came up last year and we seized them. A dream came true. Since August we have our own boilie factory and we can convert our successful boilie recipe from the past and present into a beautiful product for every carpangler.

I wish everyone nice catches and goodbye, see you at the waterfront!

Sincerely,

Paul Steenbekkers
